Who we are

RAQIM is a mobile app made by Agencive Technology LLC ("we", "us"), Shams Business Center, Sharjah Media City Free Zone, Al Messaned, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Contact for privacy questions and requests: hello@raqim.co.

Using RAQIM without an account

You can use RAQIM as a guest. As a guest, the app does not ask for your name or e-mail address, but it still sends usage events with a random device ID (see "Usage and diagnostics"). The assistant and the reading comparison need an account.

Your account

• Your e-mail address.
• Your password. It is handled by our authentication service (Supabase Auth); we do not see it and it is not stored in readable form.
• Your name. If you do not enter one, the part of your e-mail address before the "@" is used. You can change it in Settings.

Your progress and settings

• Your settings, for example notification preferences, prayer calculation method and language.
• Daily steps you have completed, dhikr totals and points.
• The surah and verse you last read, your bookmarks and the surahs you have completed.

Family mode

• RAQIM accounts are for adults. A parent or guardian can create child profiles inside their own account; children have no account of their own.
• For each child profile: a nickname, an age group (4–6, 7–9 or 10–12) and a ready-made avatar; a progress count shown to the child as a garden; and an activity history (the type and time of each activity, and which dua or learning topic it was).
• When the child asks the Wise Assistant one of its questions: the question's identifier, the age group and the first 100 characters of the answer.
• The parent PIN is stored as a hash, not as the PIN itself. All of this is linked to the parent's account; the parent can see and delete it behind the PIN. See our Child Safety Policy at raqim.co/child-safety.

Assistant and reading comparison

• Assistant: the number of questions you asked each day, to apply a daily limit. The text of your questions is not stored on our side.
• Reading comparison: for each attempt, the surah and verses you chose, the length and size of the recording, how many words matched, were missing, were different or were extra, how long the check took, the result, the app version and the platform. The recording and the recognised text are not stored on our side, and the app deletes the recording from your phone after the comparison.

Reports about AI answers

You can report an assistant answer, a surah summary or a Wise Assistant answer in the app. A report contains the reported text (up to 1,000 characters), the sources it cited, your rating and, for a child's answer, the question identifier and age group. Your own question is not included. We use reports to review and improve answers.

Usage and diagnostics

• For everyone, including guests: usage events, for example that the app was opened, a screen was viewed or a feature was used, with simple details such as a count, a duration or a rating. Each event carries a random device ID created by the app (not the advertising ID). If you are signed in, the event is also linked to your account.
• For signed-in users: app sessions (start and end time, app version and build number, platform, operating system version, phone model, whether the app runs on an emulator, build type); a fixed list of feature events; and error reports (the feature, an error code, a short cleaned error message and timing).
• The text of your assistant questions and your recordings are not part of this data. We use it to run the app, find errors and understand which features are used, never for advertising.

Test programme (only if you join with an invite code)

• A pseudonymous tester code (for example T001), linked to your account, and the version of the test programme notice you accepted.
• Your survey answers, including any comments you choose to write (up to 1,000 characters each).
• On the price research page, the plan you choose is recorded as interest only. No payment is taken.
• Your sessions, events, error reports and reading comparison results are marked with your tester code.

Location

Prayer times and the qibla direction are calculated on your phone; your coordinates are not sent to our servers. To show the name of your town, the app uses your phone's own location service (Google on Android, Apple on iOS), under that provider's terms. Your last position (rounded to about 1 km) and any city you choose are saved only on your phone.

Data that stays only on your phone

Your prayer record and make-up prayer counts, special-days mode, your fasting record, your reading plan and reading preferences, and your last position or chosen city are never sent to our servers. They are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data; account deletion does not reach them.

Who else receives data

• We do not sell your data. We share data only with these services, so that the app can work:
• Supabase (hosting, database, authentication, server functions): the account, progress, family, usage, report and test data described above. Hosted in the European Union (Ireland).
• OpenAI: the questions you type to the assistant and passages from our stored commentary, to find relevant verses and write the answer; the surah number and name when you ask for a surah summary; your reading comparison recording, to turn it into text; for a child's Wise Assistant question, the fixed question text, our instructions for tone and safety, the age group and the reply language (no name, nickname, account or profile identifier).
• Expo: when the app checks for an update, the app version, platform and update channel; when you allow notifications, the app requests a notification token from Expo's service. We do not store that token.
• alquran.cloud: which surah or verse of the Arabic Quran text is requested, and the list of surahs.
• The Quran translations are included in the app and Quran search runs on your phone, so your search words are not sent anywhere.
• Like any internet service, these services can see your IP address when the app connects to them. alquran.cloud is an independent content service, not a processor working for us; its own terms apply.
• OpenAI may process data outside your country, including in the United States. By default, OpenAI does not use data sent through its API to train its models unless the organisation using the API chooses to share it. OpenAI may keep API data for a limited time to monitor abuse, under its own terms.
• Our hosting provider keeps technical logs of requests (for example time and IP address) for a limited period under its own terms.

What we do not do

• No advertising and no advertising ID.
• No third-party analytics, tracking or crash-reporting tools.
• We do not sell your data.

Who can see your data

Your data is visible to you in the app and, as needed to run and support the service, to us. In family mode, the parent can see the child profile's activity history. Other users cannot see your data.

How long we keep data

• Account, progress, family, report and test data, and usage events linked to your account: until you delete your account or ask us to delete it.
• Usage events recorded while you were not signed in carry only the random device ID and are not linked to an account; we keep them for as long as we use them to understand how the app is used.
• Assistant questions and recordings: not stored on our side.

Deleting your data

• In the app: Profile, then Settings, then Delete My Account. Confirm twice. Deletion starts straight away and cannot be undone.
• On the web: follow the steps at raqim.co/delete-account.
• By e-mail: write to hello@raqim.co from the address you use for RAQIM, with the subject "Delete my account". We confirm that the request comes from the account owner, delete the account within 30 days and reply when it is done.
• Deleted: your account (e-mail address, name, password); your profile, settings, progress, bookmarks and completed surahs; child profiles and their activity history; usage events linked to your account and your daily assistant count; your sessions, feature events, error reports, reports about AI answers, reading comparison results and survey answers.
• Remains: if you joined the test programme, the tester record keeps only its pseudonymous code and is no longer linked to any account; usage events recorded while you were not signed in; data kept only on your phone, until you uninstall the app.
• You can also delete a single child profile, or a child's activity history, in the app behind the parent PIN.

Your requests

For other requests about your data, for example a copy of it or a correction, write to hello@raqim.co. We reply within the period required by applicable law.

Security

All connections from the app to our servers and to the content services use HTTPS. Access to the database is limited by per-user access rules, so a signed-in user can reach only their own data. No system is completely secure; if you think your account has been misused, write to hello@raqim.co.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date and publish the new text at raqim.co/privacy and in the app.
